Parliament and the Internet
The 2007 Parliament and the Internet Conference was held in the Houses of Parliament, on Thursday 18th October. The event was kindly sponsored by Microsoft and Symantec.
The conference brought together leading figures from Government, Parliament, academia and industry to discuss and debate the most pressing policy issues facing the Internet.
Keynote speakers:
- The Rt Hon Stephen Timms MP, Minister for Competitiveness, Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform
- Nicholas Negroponte, founder and chairman of the One Laptop per Child non-profit association
- Commander Sue Wilkinson, Head of Child Abuse Investigation and Economic and Specialist Crime, Metropolitan Police
